Blood Cancer
Blood cancer, also known as hematologic cancer, includes various types of diseases that affect the blood, bone marrow, and lymphatic system. Common types include leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative disorders (MPD), and multiple myeloma. These cancers occur when abnormal blood cells proliferate uncontrollably, disrupting the normal function of blood cells that are crucial for fighting infections and producing new blood cells.
